Another sharing app that has some ( limited) use for some that may be using shared iPads. This one is actually a webpage that your students upload to. You set up your own web page ( through Drop it to me), with a pin code and link it to Dropbox, Google Drive or One Drive). Anything they upload will go to a Drop it to me folder in your selected drive. The students log into the Drop it to me page you have set up, put in your pin - then they can upload files. This is great for sharing video or pictures your students have created on a shared iPad but is limited for other files. If you were using a laptop you would simply drop the file or upload it ( using the laptops file system). But because iPads don't have a file structure this becomes limited. You can “open in another app” on an iPad or collect from the “Photo” app - but not locate a file on an iPad ( only through the Photo app).
Your students can “locate” a file from their Google Drive , Dropbox or One Drive. But on a shared iPad they are less likely to be signed in ( of course they can be - but would have to be in the habit of signing out for the next student). Also - with these drive they can simply “share” a folder within the drive - no real need for any other outside systems.
It is simple to set up and use. Will upload finished videos or anything within the Photo app - which could be a bonus for some teachers. Students can upload from their Dropbox, Google Drive, Onedrive - if they are signed into their account. It will automatically make a folder on your drive where all files will upload to.
Personally I found this a “ one trick pony”, considering all the other alternatives out there now. But try it and share your thoughts on it.
